Have you heard about the group of white supremacist men who are calling themselves ‘The ALT Right’? If not, they are a group of men who have beliefs against feminism, multiculturalism, immigration, and many others. They are led by Richard Bertrand Spencer. They started in 2010 and have been going strong since. While many people believe in what they are doing is right, Luke Lubben says, “It's too much racism” (Lubben) and that he doesn't agree. Also, many people are unsure about what they stand for. Such as Matt Harrison “I am really questioning what they are doing” (Harrison). People in ‘The ALT Right’ are all around the nation. To get together they have websites who are promoting them and they have meetings led by Richard Bertrand Spencer. They are considered a hate group by the Southern Law Poverty Center. “When Mr. Spencer shouted, “Hail, Trump! Hail, our people! Hail, victory!” … men stood and raised their arms in Nazi salutes” (Caldwell). “The alt-right is not a large movement, but the [prominence] that it is enjoying in the early days of the Trump era may tell us something about the way the country is changing” (Caldwell). The ALT Right is a group of white supremacist men who have beliefs against multiculturalism, immigration, feminism and many others.
