On November 29, 2016, 71 people including players, coaches, and pilots on Brazil's Chapecoense soccer team died in a plane crash. "The plane had departed from the Bolivian city of Santa Cruz but reported an electrical emergency shortly before crashing late Monday night ..." ("Plane Carrying Brazilian”). No one is exactly sure what happened but many people believe it was an electrical emergency or an outage of fuel ("Who Are Brazilian”). The team was the best in the country and was on their way to the continental final, which they had never been to before. Families, friends, players, and the whole country of Brazil were devastated on the 29th of November.
